Vera AgriTech Ltd. (referred to as "Vera AgriTech", "we", "us", or "our") is an agricultural technology company registered in Nigeria, with its office at No. 4 Alhaji R.A. Akinpelu Close, Oni and Sons Area, Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. We build climate-smart food production systems, including screen houses, hydroponic and soilless farming kits, drip irrigation systems, and farm machinery, and we provide commercial crop production, training, and agribusiness consulting services.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal data when you:

(b) Training and advisory registrations. When you register for our training workshops (in Ibadan or on-site programmes for cooperatives, schools, agencies, and NGOs) or book a consultation, we may collect your name, contact details, organisation or cooperative name, occupation, location, and information relevant to the programme (e.g., farming experience, cultivation area).
(c) Commercial transactions. When you purchase products, commission construction, enter a produce offtake/buyback arrangement, or invest in or partner with us, we may collect billing and delivery addresses, payment-related information (processed through banks or licensed payment providers — we do not store full card details), business registration details, tax identification numbers, and contract information.
(d) Direct communications. When you contact us by email, telephone, WhatsApp, or social media, we collect the information you choose to share, including your phone number, WhatsApp profile name, and message content.
(e) Testimonials and media. With your consent, we may collect and publish your name, photograph, location, and feedback as a customer testimonial or case study on our Website and marketing materials.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you browse the Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

3.4 Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Our Website and services are directed at adults, businesses, cooperatives, and institutions. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, religious, or biometric data) or data from children under 18 without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

(a) Service providers (data processors). Trusted third parties who help us operate, such as website hosting and maintenance providers, email service providers, IT support, cloud storage providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually required to process your data only on our instructions and to protect it appropriately.
(b) Communication platforms. If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms), your communication is also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy. Similarly, interactions on Facebook, Instagram, or X are governed by those platforms' policies.
(c) Payment and financial institutions. Banks and licensed payment processors that facilitate payments for our products and services.
(d) Strategic partners. Where you participate in a joint programme (for example, a financing, insurance, empowerment, or development scheme run with our banking, insurance, government, or development partners), we may share relevant data with the specific partner administering that programme. We will inform you at the point of collection where this applies.
(e) Professional advisers. Lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers, where necessary for our legitimate business operations.
(f) Regulators and law enforcement. Where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), tax authorities, or law enforcement agencies.
(g) Business transfers. If Vera AgriTech is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards.
6. Third-Party Services Embedded on Our Website
Our Website uses or links to third-party services that may collect data directly from your browser:
- Google Maps. Our contact section embeds a Google Map to show our office location. When the map loads, Google may collect your IP address and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- WhatsApp click-to-chat. Clicking our "Chat with us on WhatsApp" link opens WhatsApp, which processes your data under Meta's/WhatsApp's privacy policy.

Vera AgriTech operates from Nigeria, and your data is primarily processed in Nigeria. However, some of our service providers (such as web hosting, email, cloud storage, and analytics providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Nigeria, including in countries that may not offer the same level of data protection as your home country.
Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, we take steps to ensure the transfer complies with the NDPA, including transferring only to countries with adequate protection as recognised by the NDPC, or applying appropriate safeguards such as contractual data protection clauses, or relying on your explicit consent or another lawful transfer basis where applicable.
For visitors from the EEA or UK, transfers outside those regions are protected using recognised mechanisms such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, where required.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, or reporting requirements. As a general guide:
- Enquiries and quotes that do not lead to a contract: retained for up to 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted or anonymised;
- Customer, contract, and transaction records: retained for the duration of the relationship and thereafter for the period required by Nigerian tax, corporate, and contract law (typically up to 6 years);
- Training records and certificates: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to verify participation and certification;
- Marketing data: retained until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe;
- Website analytics data: retained in accordance with the retention settings of the analytics tool, typically 14–26 months.
When personal data is no longer needed, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymise it.
11. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by law (generally within 30 days), and we will not charge a fee unless the request is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, in which case any fee will be as permitted by law.
12. Marketing Communications
We will only send you marketing communications (such as newsletters, training dates, product announcements, and blog updates) where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted by law. Every marketing email will contain an unsubscribe link, and you may also opt out at any time by contacting us at info@veraagritech.com or via WhatsApp at +234 803 521 7807. Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related communications (such as responses to your enquiries, quotes, invoices, or training confirmations).
13. Children's Privacy
Our Website and services are not directed at children under 18 years of age. Where minors participate in our youth training and empowerment programmes, we collect their personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent, guardian, school, or sponsoring organisation, and only to the extent necessary to deliver the programme. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.
14. Testimonials, Photographs, and Case Studies
We publish testimonials, names, photographs, and project details of customers, trainees, and partners only with their consent. If your testimonial or image appears on our Website or marketing materials and you wish to have it updated or removed, contact us at info@veraagritech.com and we will act on your request within a reasonable time.
